The Never Ending Link (Link )
The site is original in its own right. It offers the users of the site an opportunity to add to a collaborative story. Each set of words is a link that goes to the writer’s website of choosing. Currently each word is 50 cents, but the sites creator Mike Bergman gives the basic (a, to, the, has etc) word for free. A fan of writing poetry and the latest internet trends, he sets out to make his own mark. Bergman has already filled up his first page and is moving onto his second. The story is kind of ridiculous, so it’s hard to see how far this can really go, but apparently Mike is steaming ahead and people are adding to the story. If you’re looking to get a cheap text link to a site that has decent traffic, it is really a low risk, high reward type purchase. He’s currently 296,510 on the Alexa traffic rankings and 72,029 for the week (Dec. 16th) His idea is innovative, but the sites design definitely needs some work. The story/links are awful and slightly difficult to read. He needs to revamp the sites design and see where he goes from there. Otherwise, my recommendation is to add to the story, and see where it goes. The last two to participate to the story, also get their banner added to the top of the site which is a nice addition.
